Privacy Policy

We want you to understand what data Biome processes, why it is needed, and which choices are available to you.

1. Who is responsible

This policy applies to services provided by PT Biome Solusi Teknologi through biome.id and Biome products. In this policy, “Biome”, “we”, and “services” refer to that party and those services.

2. Data we process

The data we process depends on how you use the services and may include:

  • Account data, such as your name, email address, phone number, and information you provide when creating or managing an account.
  • Verification data you submit or that we check, such as person-in-charge identity data (ID, phone, bank-account name match), business legality data (NIB, business name, address), product documents, and records of site visits or product tests.
  • Profile data, such as business name, business role, displayed products, and the content of your public profile.
  • Order data recorded through the services, such as invoices or purchase orders, reported payment or shipment status, and documented ratings and disputes.
  • Communication data when you contact us, including the message and information you choose to provide.
  • Technical data such as IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed, and security or performance logs.

3. How we use data

We use data to:

  • provide, operate, maintain, and improve Biome services;
  • verify the identity, business role, and evidence submitted by business owners;
  • display public profiles and track records according to the applicable verification status;
  • record orders, ratings, and dispute resolution between users;
  • secure accounts, prevent abuse and falsified data, investigate incidents, and maintain system reliability;
  • understand product usage and measure site performance through analytics; and
  • meet legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from competent authorities.

4. Verification data is personal data

Documents collected for verification — such as the person-in-charge ID, NIB, and business documents — are personal data. We process them only for verification checks and under the applicable legal basis, including Indonesia's personal data protection law (UU PDP).

We do not sell verification data and do not display raw documents on public profiles. Public profiles show verification status and checked evidence, not the documents themselves.

5. Service providers and third parties

We may use service providers for hosting, infrastructure, analytics, communications, and other operational functions. Providers receive only the access needed to perform their functions and are subject to relevant security or confidentiality obligations.

Biome is not a payment provider. Payments between users happen directly, outside Biome — unless a protected payment service becomes available later through a licensed partner with its own privacy terms.

6. Cookies and analytics

Biome's public site uses Google Analytics to understand site usage and improve the experience. This technology may process technical and usage information under Google's policies. Your browser may also store cookies or local storage needed by the site.

You can limit cookies through your browser settings or privacy tools available on your device. Limiting them may affect some site functions.

7. Retention, security, and deletion

We retain data as needed to provide services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods may differ by data type and context.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including sensitive verification data. No system can be guaranteed absolutely secure, so you must also protect your credentials and account access.

To request access, correction, restriction, export, or deletion of data under Biome's control, email hi@biome.id. We may ask for additional information to verify identity and understand the scope of a request.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, processing practices, or applicable obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
